While our timeless engagement rings continue to be among our most sought-after, many seek a contemporary reinterpretation of the classics. We offer a wide selection of engagement ring styles, ensuring individuals have access to numerous unique designs for their rings. However, among our collection of modern engagement rings, the following five have become our personal favorites.
Lumiere Ring
This one-of-a-kind ring is an ideal choice for an upcoming fiancé who desires a touch of contemporary flair.
The base is a standard classic ring with a pave band and round center stone. This ring shows off its personality with its petal-like prongs and diamond-studded baseband.
When viewing the ring from the front, it can give the illusion of an oval shaped diamond, but this ring can only hold a brilliant round center stone.
Place a lab grown diamond of your choosing in this gorgeous setting and create a stunning modern engagement ring.
Fleur Ring
Another classic style, the Fleur Ring, is the perfect option for a woman who loves the geometric aspect of modernism.
With a band of 12 fine accent conflict-free diamonds, this ring makes the band and setting just as intricate, glamorous, and interesting as the center stone.
This ring is also great for a woman who is interested in a diamond shape other than a brilliant round, as it can accommodate just about any shape.
Stick with the geometric angle and add an oval or marquise stone to really make the ring pop! If you like the idea of playing around with different shapes, you may also want to consider a two stone engagement ring. It’s a classic ring with a modern twist.
Be sure to purchase the Fleur Ring with its matching wedding band to create a gorgeous bridal set that would work as the perfect base for a ring stack.
Orbital Solitaire Ring
Our Orbital Solitaire is a modern minimalist’s dream come true. With a thicker, plain band, this solitaire engagement ring only shows off at one focal point on the ring — the center stone.
With the option for a round diamond, the four-prong setting is embellished with a band of 12 small lab grown diamonds that can only be seen when looking at the ring from the side.
If you did want to dress up the Orbital Solitaire, a diamond-studded eternity band would add a layer of sparkle that would help to further highlight the center diamond on this new engagement ring.
Royale Ring
The Royale Ring is very similar to the Orbital Solitaire in terms of its structural features — a thick band and setting adornment.
However, we love this modern engagement ring for a big reason other than its geometrical angles. One of the biggest trends in modern jewelry is ring stacking. With a ring like this one, it already appears to have two layers because the band holds two rows of lab grown diamond accent stones.
This is a great option for someone who is hoping to have a ring stack but without purchasing multiple rings. The Royale Bridal Set on its own can already appear to onlookers as a tower of rings.
Double Prong Solitaire Ring
Finally, we have the Double Prong Solitaire Ring. The simplest of all five, this ring stands out mostly for its prong setting.
Instead of one prong in each of the four corners of the ring, there are two, giving a tulip-like appearance to the diamond setting that looks extremely unique from all angles.
A double-prong ring is a great way to add a tiny bit of detail if you’re mostly looking for a simple solitaire engagement ring.
Similar to the orbital solitaire, this ring would also pair nicely with a studded eternity band to create your own bridal set.
Deciding Your Metal Type
All of the modern engagement rings from Clean Origin are available in white, yellow, and rose gold, as well as platinum. For gold, we offer both 14k and 18k options. So which should you pick for your ring?
The color will really vary depending on personal preference. White gold is currently a best-seller, but yellow gold is also making a comeback from its popularity in the 90s and early 2000s.
Rose gold, on the other hand, is fairly new to the engagement ring industry. This is a great color to choose if you want to really make a statement or if you tend to wear other gold or rose gold jewelry.
The metal type will likely be based on what your day-to-day activities involve. When comparing 14 and 18k gold, the main difference is in the durability and the percent of actual gold in the metal.
Since gold is actually a soft metal, the more gold in a ring, the less durable it will be. So in terms of hardness, 14k is actually a better choice.
However, if you’re concerned with the level of gold that’s in the ring, you’ll want to go with 18k.
If you have nickel allergies, you might already know that it can sometimes be found in lower karat gold. If that’s the case, you might want to go with 18k or platinum.
Of the three options, platinum is the most durable and a great option if you work with your hands or if you’re involved in fitness where a ring would come in contact with hard materials (cross-fit, weightlifting, rowing, etc.).
If you’re looking for contemporary engagement rings, but don’t see one you absolutely love in the above list, set up a consultation with one of our knowledgeable diamond experts. They’ll be able to not only help you find a modern setting but the perfect diamond and the best metal.
